Strainer Bars + Stretching

A strainer bar is used to construct a wooden stretcher frame used by artists to mount their canvases. They are traditionally a wooden framework support on which an artist fastens a piece of canvas too. Sometimes, however, these existing strainers need attention and can either be remedied or new ones can be built to new specifications in our Studio. We carefully remove the existing artwork and then re-stretch it on the new Strainer frame. Careful consideration and examination of all artwork brought to our studio's attention is discussed prior to proceeding with any treatments. Should there be any concerns regarding repairs based on structure, weakness, deterioration, or damage to artwork is deferred to our skilled Conservator Studio Partner with museum-level experience. She is qualified on all matters of Conservation and Restoration with paintings and artwork.
